        AN ACT to amend the cannabis law, in relation to including gender equal-
          ity in the social and economic equity  plan  of  the  New  York  state
          cannabis control board

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. Paragraphs (e) and (f) of subdivision 2 of  section  87  of
     2  the cannabis law are amended and a new paragraph (g) is added to read as
     3  follows:
     4    (e)  distressed  farmers,  as  defined  in  subdivision  five  of this
     5  section; [and]
     6    (f) service-disabled veterans[.]; and
     7    (g) transgender, gender non-conforming and non-binary individuals.
     8    § 2. Subdivision 5 of section 87 of the cannabis  law  is  amended  by
     9  adding a new paragraph (h) to read as follows:
    10    (h)  "Transgender,  gender  non-conforming and non-binary individuals"
    11  shall mean any person who has a gender identity or expression  different
    12  from the sex assigned to that individual at birth.
    13    § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
