       AN  ACT  to amend the general business law, in relation to the usage and
         warning labels of over-the-counter drugs
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. The general business law is amended by adding a new section
    2  399-i to read as follows:
    3    S 399-I. USAGE AND WARNING LABELS OF OVER-THE-COUNTER DRUGS.  THE DRUG
    4  INFORMATION  LABEL  REQUIRED  PURSUANT TO FEDERAL FOOD AND DRUG ADMINIS-
    5  TRATION RULES AND REGULATIONS SHALL HAVE USAGE AND WARNING LABELS  WHICH
    6  SHALL  BE  MARKED, STAMPED, TAGGED OR BRANDED IN LEGIBLE AND CONSPICUOUS
    7  ENGLISH WORDS IN AT LEAST ELEVEN POINT PRINT.
    8    S 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after
    9  it shall have become a law.
