       AN ACT to amend the social services law, in relation to  exemption  from
         participation  in  work  activities  for  applicants  or recipients of
         public assistance; and providing for the  repeal  of  such  provisions
         upon expiration thereof
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1.   Paragraph (d) of subdivision 1  of  section  332  of  the
    2  social  services law, as amended by section 148 of part B of chapter 436
    3  of the laws of 1997, is amended to read as follows:
    4    (d) a parent or other relative of a child who is personally  providing
    5  care  for  such  child  under  one year of age for a [maximum] period of
    6  twelve months[, only three months of which shall be attributable to  any
    7  one child, except as otherwise extended up to the twelve month period by
    8  the social services official];
    9    S  2.  This  act shall take effect immediately and shall expire and be
   10  deemed repealed July 31, 2013.
