          tee on Transportation

        AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in  relation  to  equipping
          all ambulances and emergency ambulance service vehicles with stop-arms

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. Section 375 of the vehicle and traffic law  is  amended  by
     2  adding a new subdivision 55 to read as follows:
     3    55.  The commissioner, in consultation with the commissioner of trans-
     4  portation, shall promulgate rules and regulations for the use  of  stop-
     5  arms on ambulances and emergency ambulance service vehicles.
     6    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
