RIVERA -- read once and referred to the Committee on Environ- mental Conservation AN ACT to amend the environmental conservation law, in relation to requiring the department of environmental conservation to issue documentation of hunter safety course completion THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: 1 Section 1. Section 11-0713 of the environmental conservation law is 2 amended by adding a new subdivision 7 to read as follows: 3 7. A PERSON WHO HOLDS A LICENSE OR STAMP AUTHORIZING THE HOLDER TO 4 HUNT, FISH, OR TRAP AND WHO HAS LOST OR ACCIDENTALLY DESTROYED DOCUMEN- 5 TATION DEMONSTRATING COMPLETION OF A HUNTER SAFETY COURSE AS REQUIRED TO 6 OBTAIN SUCH A LICENSE OR STAMP MAY REQUEST THE DEPARTMENT TO PROVIDE 7 DOCUMENTATION OF THE COMPLETION OF SUCH A HUNTER SAFETY COURSE. THE 8 DEPARTMENT SHALL ISSUE A CERTIFICATE STATING THE NAME AND ADDRESS OF THE 9 APPLICANT AND THAT THE APPLICANT HAS SATISFACTORILY COMPLETED A HUNTER 10 SAFETY COURSE AS REQUIRED BY THE STATE OF NEW YORK TO OBTAIN A LICENSE 11 OR STAMP AUTHORIZING THE HOLDER TO HUNT, FISH, OR TRAP. THE DEPARTMENT 12 MAY CHARGE A REASONABLE FEE FOR THE ISSUANCE OF SUCH A CERTIFICATE. 13 S 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after 14 it shall have become a law.
