        Introduced  by  COMMITTEE  ON RULES -- (at request of M. of A. D. Rosen-
          thal) -- read once and referred to the Committee on Health

        AN ACT in relation to requiring that  nursing  home  patients  who  have
          previously  tested positive for COVID-19 shall produce a negative test
          result before he or she can be readmitted to such nursing home

          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section  1.  Notwithstanding  any  law to the contrary, a nursing home
     2  resident who has been admitted to a hospital  as  a  result  of  testing
     3  positive  for  COVID-19  shall  not  be  readmitted to such nursing home
     4  unless such resident submits to retesting for  COVID-19  by  a  licensed
     5  medical  professional  and can produce a negative test result, irrespec-
     6  tive of whether such resident's COVID-19 symptoms have subsided.
     7    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
