        HONORING  William Tuthill upon the occasion of his
        designation as recipient of the 2023  Dr.  Karen  R.
        Hitchcock  Award  for Championing the Choral Arts in
        the Capital Region by Albany Pro Musica

  WHEREAS, From time to time  this  Legislative  Body  takes  note  of
certain  extraordinary  individuals  it  wishes  to  recognize for their
valued contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and

  WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is  justly  proud  to  honor  William
Tuthill  upon  the  occasion of his designation as recipient of the 2023
Dr. Karen R. Hitchcock Award for Championing  the  Choral  Arts  in  the
Capital Region by Albany Pro Musica, to be celebrated at its Annual Love
& Light Gala on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Wolferts Roost Country Club
in Albany, New York; and

  WHEREAS,  A  long-time singer, board member, volunteer, and generous
supporter of Albany Pro Musica  for  25  years,  William  Tuthill  truly
embodies Dr. Hitchcock's commitment to this vital organization; and

  WHEREAS, After moving to the Capital Region in 1996, William Tuthill
joined  Albany  Pro Musica's chorus in 1998, and he started volunteering
for projects and events soon after; and

  WHEREAS, Finding a community of like-minded people, William  Tuthill
later  became  the  organization's part-time Administrative Director and
also served on the Board of Directors for two three-year terms; and

  WHEREAS, In addition to his tireless work on behalf  of  Albany  Pro
Musica,  William  Tuthill also serves on the boards for the Albany Pride
Center and the Capital District Recovery Center; and

  WHEREAS, William  Tuthill  generously  supports  numerous  arts  and
community  organizations  as  a  donor,  and  continues  to  support his
community and his passions; and

  WHEREAS, Rare indeed  is  the  impressive  dedication  shown  by  an
individual for the benefit of others which William Tuthill has displayed
throughout his life; and

  WHEREAS,  It  is  the  sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown  a
long  and  sustained  commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
honor  William Tuthill upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the 2023 Dr. Karen R. Hitchcock Award for Championing the Choral Arts
in the Capital Region by Albany Pro Musica; and be it further

  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to William Tuthill.
