        HONORING  Chief  Enrico  L.  D'Alessandro upon the
        occasion of his designation for special  recognition
        after  50 years of dedicated service to the field of
        law enforcement

  WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize  and
honor  those  distinguished  officers  who  devote  themselves to public
service, demonstrating great courage and diligence in providing for  the
care  and  welfare  of  the citizens of their communities and this great
Empire State; and

  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and  in  full  accord  with  its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
past  Chief  Enrico L. D'Alessandro upon the occasion of his designation
for special recognition after 50 years of dedicated service to the field
of law enforcement; and

  WHEREAS, Born in  Utica,  New  York  to  Domenico  D'Alessandro  and
Angeline  Darpino  in  1949,  Enrico  L.  D'Alessandro  graduated with a
master's degree in Public Administration from Marist College, and was  a
member of the 170th session of the FBI National Academy; and

  WHEREAS,  Enrico  L. D'Alessandro is a retired Agent of the U.S. Air
Force's Office of Special Investigations, providing him a  great  wealth
of  knowledge  which has, and will continue to, provide him much success
in his law enforcement career; and

  WHEREAS,  With  a  great  depth  of  career  experience,  Enrico  L.
D'Alessandro  started with the Oneida County Sheriff's Office in 1973 as
Deputy Sheriff, and rose through the ranks,  becoming  an  Investigator,
then  was  promoted  directly  to Lieutenant after scoring exceptionally
well on Sergeant and  Lieutenant  tests,  and  later,  to  the  role  of
Captain, before retiring in 2001; and

  WHEREAS,  Returning  to  the  workforce  in  the  same  year  of his
retirement,  Enrico  L.  D'Alessandro  joined   the   SUNY   Morrisville
University  Police  Department  serving  as  Chief from 2001 to 2019; he
currently serves  as  Background  Investigator  for  the  Oneida  County
Sheriff's Office; and

  WHEREAS,   Under   the   seasoned  leadership  of  Chief  Enrico  L.
D'Alessandro, the Oneida County Sheriff's Office  and  SUNY  Morrisville
Police  Department excel in every aspect of professionalism in the field
of law enforcement; and

  WHEREAS, It is  the  sense  of  this  Legislative  Body  that  those
dedicated  public  servants  who  unselfishly  devote their lives to the
preservation of order and the protection of others are  worthy  and  due
full praise for their commitment and noble endeavors; now, therefore, be
it

  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor past Chief  Enrico  L.  D'Alessandro  upon  the  occasion  of  his

designation  for special recognition after 50 years of dedicated service
to the field of law enforcement; and be it further

  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Chief Enrico L. D'Alessandro.
