        COMMENDING  the  YWCA  of  Mohawk  Valley upon the
        occasion of hosting  their  35th  Annual  Salute  to
        Outstanding Women on March 21, 2024

  WHEREAS,  It  is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay  tribute  to  those  organizations  of  high  purpose   and   worthy
accomplishment whose endeavors have faithfully served the welfare of the
citizens of the State of New York; and

  WHEREAS,  Attendant  to  such  concern,  and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this  Legislative  Body  is  justly  proud  to
commend  the  YWCA  of  Mohawk Valley upon the occasion of hosting their
35th Annual Salute to Outstanding Women  and  their  award  ceremony  on
Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Hart's Hill Inn in Whitesboro, New York; and

  WHEREAS, The Salute to Outstanding Women is a time-honored tradition
upheld   by   the  YWCA  of  Mohawk  Valley  to  celebrate  the  amazing
contributions and outstanding achievements of local  women  in  Herkimer
and  Oneida  counties,  honoring the achievements of more than 250 women
since the inaugural event in 1989; and

  WHEREAS, Paying tribute to this  year's  honorees,  who  embody  the
meaning of "Outstanding Women," the following women received awards: Ann
Rushlo,  Business & Industry; Jennifer Adjodha-Evans, Education; Heather
Loveland-Button, Entrepreneur; Patricia  M.  Sterling,  Healthcare;  Amy
Turner,  Human  and Public Service; Amiyah Evans, Outstanding Youth; Jen
DeWeerth, Social Justice; Tamalin C. Martin, STEAM; and

  WHEREAS, Nominated by the community  and  selected  by  a  panel  of
independent  judges, the eight women who received awards were chosen for
specific categories of work, sponsored by community organizations; and

  WHEREAS, Devoted to the community-at-large, all  proceeds  from  the
fundraiser  directly  benefit  the  YWCA  of Mohawk Valley's lifesaving,
free, confidential, and 24-hour  domestic  and  sexual  violence  crisis
services; and

  WHEREAS,  The  success  of  the  YWCA  of Mohawk Valley is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its  leadership  and  its  members,  whose
involvement  is,  and  always  has  been, characterized by an impressive
commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising  standard  of
excellence  in  all  endeavors  on  behalf  of  the  institution and the
community it serves; and

  WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is proudly moved to honor and commend
the members of the YWCA of Mohawk Valley, past  and  present,  who  have
labored so conscientiously to secure and improve the quality of life for
the community it serves; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the YWCA of Mohawk Valley upon the  occasion  of  hosting  their
35th  Annual  Salute  to  Outstanding Women on March 21, 2024; and be it
further


  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the YWCA of Mohawk Valley.
