STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 226 2019-2020 Regular Sessions IN SENATE (Prefiled) January 9, 2019 ___________ Introduced by Sens. HOYLMAN, BROOKS, SANDERS -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Health AN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to information contained in the annual water supply statement The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 1151 of the public health law is amended by adding 2 a new subdivision 9 to read as follows: 3 9. Information regarding the number, lengths, ages and locations of 4 all the lead pipes located within the water system, as that term is 5 defined in subdivision twenty-six of section two of the public service 6 law. 7 § 2. Section 1152-a of the public health law, as added by chapter 72 8 of the laws of 1997, is amended to read as follows: 9 § 1152-a. New York state public water supply report. The department, 10 shall prepare an annual New York state public water supply report. Such 11 report shall consist of a compilation and analysis of the information 12 and data submitted by water suppliers pursuant to the provisions of this 13 article, including but not limited to: 14 (a) data regarding the number, lengths, ages and locations of existing 15 lead pipes within water systems; 16 (b) a database of all the information and data submitted by water 17 suppliers pursuant to the provisions of this article that is open and 18 accessible to the public, including in electronic form, and that shall 19 be made available on the department's website; 20 (c) a map of the locations and geographic densities of lead pipes 21 within the state's water systems; 22 (d) an analysis of the geographic variation of the data produced in 23 the report; EXPLANATION--Matter in italics (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [] is old law to be omitted. This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after 5 it shall have become a law.
