        Introduced  by  Sen.  COONEY -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Social Services

        AN ACT to amend the social services law, in relation to certain payments
          for the financial support of a foster child

          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section  1.  Section  398-a  of  the social services law is amended by
     2  adding a new subdivision 2-d to read as follows:
     3    (2-d) The regulations of the department established pursuant  to  this
     4  section shall provide for payments for the financial support of a foster
     5  child  for  one  week  following  the  termination  of their foster care
     6  status. Such payments shall be at the same schedule  and  rate  as  when
     7  such child was in foster care.
     8    §  2.  This  act  shall take effect on the sixtieth day after it shall
     9  have become a law.
