        Introduced  by  Sen.  AKSHAR -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Corporations,  Authorities
          and Commissions

        AN  ACT  to  amend  the  not-for-profit  corporation law, in relation to
          activities prohibited to not-for-profit corporations

          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section  1.  The not-for-profit corporation law is amended by adding a
     2  new section 204-a to read as follows:
     3  § 204-a. Restricted activities.
     4    (a) As used in this section, the term "drug injection site" shall mean
     5  any program or entity that provides a hygienic space for  an  individual
     6  to  consume  a controlled substance in violation of article thirty-three
     7  of the public health law.
     8    (b) Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter or  any  other
     9  general  law,  a  corporation  of any kind to which this chapter applies
    10  shall not operate a drug injection site within the state.
    11    § 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day  after  it  shall
    12  have become a law.
