       Introduced  by  Sen.  GOLDEN  --  (at request of the Department of Civil
         Service) -- read twice and ordered printed, and  when  printed  to  be
         committed to the Committee on Civil Service and Pensions
       AN  ACT to amend the civil service law, in relation to transfer opportu-
         nities for employees serving in items classified under  sections  55-b
         and 55-c of such law
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Subdivision 2 of section 55-b of the civil service law,  as
    2  amended  by  chapter  603  of  the  laws  of 1995, is amended to read as
    3  follows:
    4    2. Those employees hired under subdivision one of this section,  shall
    5  be  afforded  the  same  opportunity TO TRANSFER AND to take promotional
    6  examinations as provided to employees in the competitive class.
    7    S 2. Subdivision 2 of section  55-c  of  the  civil  service  law,  as
    8  amended  by  chapter  603  of  the  laws  of 1995, is amended to read as
    9  follows:
   10    2. Those employees hired under subdivision one of this section,  shall
   11  be  afforded  the  same  opportunity TO TRANSFER AND to take promotional
   12  examinations as provided to employees in the competitive class.
   13    S 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
