       Introduced  by  Sen.  GALLIVAN -- (at request of the State Commission of
         Correction) -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to  be
         committed to the Committee on Crime Victims, Crime and Correction
       AN  ACT  to amend the correction law, in relation to authorizing commis-
         sion attorneys to issue substitute jail designations
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1.  Section  504 of the correction law is amended by adding a
    2  new subdivision 5 to read as follows:
    3    5. AS PROVIDED IN THIS SECTION, ANY DESIGNATION OF THE  STATE  COMMIS-
    4  SION  OF CORRECTION, OR ANY AMENDMENT, MODIFICATION OR REVOCATION THERE-
    5  TO, MAY BE ISSUED  BY  THE  COMMISSION,  ANY  MEMBER,  OR  ANY  ATTORNEY
    6  EMPLOYED BY THE COMMISSION.
    7    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
