        Introduced  by  Sen.  GRIFFO -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Codes
        AN ACT to amend the penal law, in  relation  to  grand  larceny  in  the
          fourth degree and criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth
          degree  of  metal  wire used as a conductor to transmit and distribute
          electrical energy
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section  1. Section 155.30 of the penal law is amended by adding a new
     2  subdivision 12 to read as follows:
     3    12. The property consists of metal wire which is owned by an  electric
     4  company  or  public  utility  operated by a municipality or district and
     5  which functions as a conductor to  transmit  and  distribute  electrical
     6  energy in the electrical grid.
     7    § 2. Section 165.45 of the penal law is amended by adding a new subdi-
     8  vision 8 to read as follows:
     9    8.  The  property consists of metal wire which is owned by an electric
    10  company or public utility operated by a  municipality  or  district  and
    11  which  functions  as  a  conductor to transmit and distribute electrical
    12  energy in the electrical grid.
    13    § 3. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day  after  it  shall
    14  have become a law.
