          printed to be committed to the Committee on Social Services

        AN ACT to amend the social services law, in relation to the distribution
          of food stamp applications to emergency feeding programs

          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section  1. The social services law is amended by adding a new section
     2  95-b to read as follows:
     3    § 95-b. Food stamp applications at emergency feeding programs. 1.  The
     4  commissioner  shall arrange for the distribution of applications for the
     5  food stamp program to all state-funded emergency feeding  programs.  For
     6  purposes  of  this  section,  "emergency  feeding  program" means a food
     7  pantry or soup kitchen.
     8    2. Beginning January first, two thousand twenty-four, and on the first
     9  business day of each succeeding calendar quarter thereafter, the commis-
    10  sioner shall submit a report to the governor and the  legislature  indi-
    11  cating  the  emergency feeding programs to which it distributed applica-
    12  tions in the prior calendar  quarter  and  the  number  of  applications
    13  distributed to each emergency feeding program.
    14    §  2.  This  act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall
    15  have become a law.
