       Introduced  by Sens. FLANAGAN, FELDER -- read twice and ordered printed,
         and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Education
       AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to BOCES technology
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1.    Subdivision  4  of section 1950 of the education law is
    2  amended by adding a new paragraph oo to read as follows:
    3    OO. AT THE REQUEST OF ONE OR MORE SCHOOL DISTRICTS, CONTRACT  FOR  THE
    4  PROCUREMENT  OF  TELECOMMUNICATIONS  EQUIPMENT  ON BEHALF OF SUCH SCHOOL
    5  DISTRICTS, SUBJECT TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION ONE HUNDRED THREE  AND
    6  SECTION  ONE  HUNDRED FOUR-B OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL LAW, PROVIDED THAT
    7  THE COSTS OF SUCH CONTRACTS SHALL BE ELIGIBLE FOR AID PURSUANT TO SUBDI-
    8  VISION FIVE OF THIS SECTION IF APPROVED BY THE COMMISSIONER AS AN  AIDA-
    9  BLE  SHARED  SERVICE  UPON  REQUEST  OF  TWO  OR  MORE  COMPONENT SCHOOL
   10  DISTRICTS.
   11    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
