       Introduced  by  Sen. HUNTLEY -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
         printed to be committed to the Committee on Veterans, Homeland Securi-
         ty and Military Affairs
       AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to the performance  of  a
         study  regarding  homeless  women who are veterans in the state of New
         York
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Section 501 of the executive law is amended by adding a new
    2  subdivision 17 to read as follows:
    3    17.  TO  PERFORM A STUDY AND ANALYSIS TO DETERMINE THE AMOUNT OF HOME-
    4  LESS WOMEN IN NEW YORK STATE WHO ARE VETERANS AS DEFINED IN  SUBDIVISION
    5  THREE  OF  SECTION  THREE HUNDRED FIFTY OF THIS CHAPTER AND TO DETERMINE
    6  THE NUMBER OF OFFSPRING OF SUCH VETERANS AS WELL AS THE  CURRENT  PLACE-
    7  MENT OF SUCH OFFSPRING. SUCH STUDY AND ANALYSIS SHALL BE COMPLETED AND A
    8  WRITTEN  REPORT DELIVERED TO THE GOVERNOR, THE LEGISLATURE AND THE DIVI-
    9  SION OF VETERANS' AFFAIRS WITHIN TWO YEARS AFTER THE EFFECTIVE  DATE  OF
   10  THIS SUBDIVISION.
   11    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
