        Introduced  by  Sen.  SERINO -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules
        AN ACT to amend the social services law, in relation to  increasing  the
          enhanced  residential  care  benefits  for  aged,  blind  and disabled
          persons
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. Paragraph (e) of subdivision 2 of section 209 of the social
     2  services  law,  as  amended  by section 2 of part P of chapter 56 of the
     3  laws of 2017, is amended to read as follows:
     4    (e) (i) [On and after] (1) From January first, two thousand  seventeen
     5  to March thirty-first, two thousand eighteen, for an eligible individual
     6  receiving  enhanced  residential  care, $1,429.00; and [(ii)] (2) for an
     7  eligible couple receiving  enhanced  residential  care,  two  times  the
     8  amount  set  forth  in [subparagraph (i)] clause one of this [paragraph]
     9  subparagraph.
    10    (ii) (1) From April first, two  thousand  eighteen  to  March  thirty-
    11  first,  two  thousand  nineteen,  for  an  eligible individual receiving
    12  enhanced residential care, $1547.00; and  (2)  for  an  eligible  couple
    13  receiving  enhanced  residential care, two times the amount set forth in
    14  clause one of this subparagraph.
    15    (iii) (1) From April first, two thousand  nineteen  to  March  thirty-
    16  first,  two  thousand  twenty,  for  an  eligible  individual  receiving
    17  enhanced residential care, $1667.00; and  (2)  for  an  eligible  couple
    18  receiving  enhanced  residential care, two times the amount set forth in
    19  clause one of this subparagraph.
    20    (iv) (1) From April first, two thousand twenty to March  thirty-first,
    21  two  thousand  twenty-one, for an eligible individual receiving enhanced
    22  residential care, $1787.00; and (2) for  an  eligible  couple  receiving
    23  enhanced  residential care, two times the amount set forth in clause one
    24  of this subparagraph.
         EXPLANATION--Matter in italics (underscored) is new; matter in brackets
                              [ ] is old law to be omitted.

     1    (v) (1) From April first, two thousand  twenty-one  to  March  thirty-
     2  first,  two  thousand  twenty-two,  for an eligible individual receiving
     3  enhanced residential care, $1907.00; and  (2)  for  an  eligible  couple
     4  receiving  enhanced  residential care, two times the amount set forth in
     5  clause one of this subparagraph.
     6    (vi) (1) From April first, two thousand twenty-two and thereafter, for
     7  an  eligible  individual  receiving enhanced residential care, $2027.00;
     8  and (2) for an eligible couple receiving enhanced residential care,  two
     9  times the amount set forth in clause one of this subparagraph.
    10    § 2. This act shall take effect April 1, 2018; provided, however, that
    11  if  section 2 of part P of chapter 56 of the laws of 2017 shall not have
    12  taken effect on or before such date then section one of this  act  shall
    13  take effect on the same date and in the same manner as section 2 of part
    14  P of chapter 56 of the laws of 2017, takes effect.
