        AN ACT to amend the agriculture and markets law, in relation  to  estab-
          lishing  a  farmer  resource  portal  to  assist  farmers in accessing
          certain information

          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section  1. The agriculture and markets law is amended by adding a new
     2  section 27-a to read as follows:
     3    § 27-a. Farmer resource portal.  The  commissioner  shall  create  and
     4  maintain  an online portal to assist farmers in accessing information to
     5  be known as the "farmer resource portal".  The  farmer  resource  portal
     6  shall  direct  farmers  to  state  and federal grants and loans, provide
     7  information and guidance about regulations that affect farmers,  provide
     8  links  to  agricultural  research  funded and conducted on behalf of New
     9  York state, provide an index of all the boards and  commissions  of  the
    10  department  including  information  about  members,  meeting  times  and
    11  locations, and the purpose of such board or commission, and include  any
    12  additional  information  that the commissioner deems necessary or appro-
    13  priate.
    14    § 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after
    15  it shall have become a law.
