STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 7815 IN SENATE May 12, 2016 ___________ Introduced by Sen. AVELLA -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Consumer Protection AN ACT to amend the general business law, in relation to increasing fines for selling and manufacturing fur-bearing articles of clothing The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Subdivision 4 of section 399-aaa of the general business 2 law, as added by chapter 611 of the laws of 2007, is amended to read as 3 follows: 4 4. A violation of this section shall be punishable by a fine of not 5 more than [five hundred] one thousand dollars for the first violation 6 and not more than [one] two thousand dollars for each subsequent 7 violation. 8 § 2.
