2024) of the Independent Redistricting 21 Commission pursuant to section 5-b of article 3 of the 22 constitution. Notwithstanding any other provision of law 23 to the contrary and within the amount made available 24 therefore by appropriation, the chair and vice-chair of 25 the Independent Redistricting Commission may receive up 26 to an annual salary of ten thousand dollars and five 27 thousand dollars for all other members of the the Inde- 28 pendent Redistricting Commission. The Independent Redis- 29 tricting Commission shall, upon an affirmative vote of 30 the members of the commission, determine its expendi- 31 tures and shall make public the expenditure of the funds 32 appropriated to the Commission that it determines to 33 make. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the 34 contrary, the members, officers, and employees of the 35 Independent Redistricting Commission shall be deemed 36 employees for the purposes of Section 17 and Section 19 37 of the Public Officers Law.
