        Introduced  by  Sen.  BAILEY -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed  to  the  Committee  on  Health  --  committee
          discharged and said bill committed to the Committee on Veterans, Home-
          land  Security  and  Military  Affairs -- reported favorably from said
          committee and committed  to  the  Committee  on  Health  --  committee
          discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted
          to said committee

        AN  ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to providing for the
          New York state of health to help veterans ascertain their  eligibility
          for healthcare through the department of veterans affairs

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. Section 268-c of the public health law is amended by adding
     2  a new subdivision 26 to read as follows:
     3    26. Ascertain if a Marketplace applicant is  eligible  for  healthcare
     4  through  the United States department of veterans affairs and, if eligi-
     5  ble  for  such  healthcare,  provide  the  Marketplace  applicant   with
     6  resources to allow them to meet with a local intake coordinator with the
     7  United  States  department  of  veterans  affairs.  Such resources shall
     8  include, but not be limited to,  help  scheduling  a  meeting  with  the
     9  intake coordinator.
    10    §  2.  This  act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall
    11  have become a law. Effective immediately, the addition, amendment and/or
    12  repeal of any rule or regulation necessary  for  the  implementation  of
    13  this  act  on its effective date are authorized to be made and completed
    14  on or before such effective date.
