          printed to be committed to the Committee on Cultural Affairs, Tourism,
          Parks and Recreation

        AN ACT to amend the economic development law, in relation to the author-
          ization of the department of economic development to give a preference
          to any tourist promotion agency that is promoting the sport of  stick-
          ball

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. Subdivision (a) of section 161 of the economic  development
     2  law, as amended by chapter 86 of the laws of 2022, is amended to read as
     3  follows:
     4    (a)  Encourage, facilitate and coordinate the planning and implementa-
     5  tion of programs to advertise, stimulate, promote and  increase  tourist
     6  travel,  resort,  vacation, culture and convention activities within the
     7  state and its regions with such flexibility as to bring about as  effec-
     8  tive and economical a tourist promotion plan as possible. The department
     9  shall  give a preference to any tourist promotion agency that is promot-
    10  ing the sport of cricket or the sport of stickball;
    11    § 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after
    12  it shall have become a law.
