        Introduced  by  Sens. CHU, COMRIE -- read twice and ordered printed, and
          when printed to be committed to the Committee on Transportation

        AN ACT to amend the highway law,  in  relation  to  installing  electric
          vehicle charging general services signs on New York state highways

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. Section 10 of the highway law is amended by  adding  a  new
     2  subdivision 30-a to read as follows:
     3    30-a.  Cause  service  signs  to be erected and maintained designating
     4  where an electric vehicle charger that is  open  and  available  to  the
     5  public  is located within fifteen miles of a roadway exit or off-ramp in
     6  accordance with the manual on uniform traffic control  devices  electric
     7  vehicle charging general service sign standard.
     8    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
