A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
To urge the Supreme Court of Ohio to name the Ohio 1
Judicial Center for former Chief Justice Thomas J. 2
Moyer.3


BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO
(THE SENATE CONCURRING):


       WHEREAS, Thomas J. Moyer, who passed away on April 2, 2010, 4
served with distinction for over twenty-three years as Chief 5
Justice of the Supreme Court of Ohio; and6

       WHEREAS, Among the many accomplishments of Chief Justice 7
Moyer's remarkable service was the restoration and transformation 8
of the Ohio Departments Building into the Ohio Judicial Center, 9
which serves as home to the Supreme Court and the state's 10
judiciary and is an architectural landmark in which all citizens 11
of the state may justly take pride; and12

       WHEREAS, The Supreme Court of Ohio owns the Ohio Judicial 13
Center; now therefore be it14

       RESOLVED, That Chief Justice Moyer's longevity of 15
distinguished service on the Supreme Court of Ohio, his integrity, 16
his decency as a person and as a jurist, and his leadership in and 17
devotion to establishing the Ohio Judicial Center should be 18
appropriately memorialized; and be it further19

       RESOLVED, That the General Assembly respectfully requests 20
that the Supreme Court of Ohio honor the name and memory of Chief 21
Justice Moyer by naming the Ohio Judicial Center for him.22
