| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the Lima Central Catholic High School boys basketball team as the 2014 Division III State Champion; and |
| WHEREAS, Each member of the Lima Central Catholic High School boys basketball team is an excellent young athlete, and Coach Frank Kill has demonstrated remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding this squad to victory. This season, the Thunderbirds bested the team from Cleveland Villa Angela-St. Joseph by a score of 64-62 to win this year's Division III State Championship title and finished the season with a 25-4 record; and |
| WHEREAS, The Thunderbirds are to be applauded, for throughout their triumphant season, they have epitomized the speed, agility, stamina, and skill that befit top competitors. Their victories over a host of talented opponents underscore the athletic prowess and indomitable spirit of every member of the squad, and it is no surprise that their maturity and determination have gained them so many admirers; and |
| WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has become a valuable educational tool.
