A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Polaris Career Center culinary team as the 2013 Ohio ProStart State Champion.

       WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Polaris Career Center culinary team on winning first place at the 2013 Ohio ProStart Invitational; and

       WHEREAS, The members of the Polaris Career Center culinary team are a remarkable group of students, combining talent and competitive spirit with exceptional knowledge to establish themselves as a truly exemplary unit. With commendable dedication, they performed admirably at this year's Ohio ProStart Invitational, and as a result, they placed first among twenty-two teams from across the state. Throughout long hours of practice and preparation, members Alec Bahirjczuk, Travis Hawk, Elijah Laboy, Katarina Liska, and Allison Shoemaker have displayed a degree of determination and motivation of which they can be proud; and

       WHEREAS, In preparing themselves for this important contest, the members of the Polaris Career Center culinary team have had the opportunity to develop and express their individual abilities and to acquire knowledge and information that will be of great benefit to them throughout their lives. Having worked diligently to sharpen their skills, they confronted competition with confidence and enthusiasm and distinguished themselves as worthy representatives of their career center, community, and state; and

       WHEREAS, The success of the Polaris Career Center culinary team is a fitting tribute to the excellent leadership provided by its instructor, Chris Olszewski, who has given tirelessly of his time, energy, and expertise to guide the members. The group's accomplishments are a justifiable source of pride not only for the students but also for their advisor, their families, and their community, and their success will greatly aid them in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it

       RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud the Polaris Career Center culinary team for outstanding achievement and salute the members and advisor as fine citizens; and be it further

       RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Polaris Career Center culinary team.
