WHEREAS,  The members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Matthew T. Schuler for his loyal service to the Ohio Senate; and

WHEREAS,  Matt Schuler is a remarkable individual, for he has combined civic concern and dedication with selfless initiative to become a dynamic member of the Ohio Senate staff. A former page for Senator Dick Schafrath and legislative aide for Senator Ted Gray, he served as director of public policy services and then managing director of information technology services for the Ohio Manufacturers' Association before returning as the clerk of the Senate in 1998, and he was named its chief of staff in 2005. Indeed, he has performed his duties and fulfilled his responsibilities with the utmost efficiency and competence, and he is deserving of high praise; and

WHEREAS,  Over the years, Matt Schuler has given generously of his time, energy, and abilities to assist the General Assembly and has demonstrated a noteworthy commitment to the success of state government. He has provided a valuable service by helping to maintain the efficiency and effectiveness of the legislative process, and without the efforts of individuals such as he, many services that are currently available to the constituents of our state would cease to exist; and

WHEREAS,  Matt Schuler's contributions to the State of Ohio have been greatly appreciated by all those who have had the pleasure of working with him. He has displayed exceptional devotion, responsibility, and enthusiasm in his endeavors, and we extend best wishes for health and happiness in the years to come; therefore be it

RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Matthew T. Schuler on his exemplary state service and salute him as one of Ohio's finest citizens; and be it further

RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Matthew T. Schuler.

I, Vincent L. Keeran, hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of Senate Resolution No. 130, adopted by the Ohio Senate, September 27, 2011.
