WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Staff Sergeant James Patrick Hunter; and |
WHEREAS, An unforgettable man whose words and actions endeared him to many, James Hunter will be truly missed by his friends, family, and community. He was serving as an army journalist assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 502nd Infantry Regiment when he was killed in the line of duty, and his absence will be keenly felt; and |
WHEREAS, A remarkable person who experienced joy, understood kindness and loyalty, and knew how to communicate his beliefs and share his strengths, James Hunter confronted challenges and faced adversity with an admirable spirit. He will be fondly remembered by those who knew and loved him, especially his parents, William and Patricia, his siblings, Thomas, Billy, Daniel, Timothy, Kathy, and Charity, and his fianc, Candice; and |
WHEREAS, Intense sorrow is virtually inescapable when someone we care for dies, and our anguish is a measure of our enduring affection for the departed. How fortunate we are that mourners can find respite from their desolation by recalling happier times and circumstances and that we have that capacity for resilience, for there is welcome serenity in our gratitude for the blessed pleasure, however temporary, of each other's company; therefore be it |
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 129th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, mourn the loss and salute the memory of a truly unique individual, Staff Sergeant James Patrick Hunter; and be it further |
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the family of Staff Sergeant James Patrick Hunter. |
