AN ACT

Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated

Statutes, further providing for speed timing devices.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

4

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  Section 3368(e) of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania

6

Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:

§ 3368.  Speed timing devices.

(e)  Distance requirements for use of mechanical, electrical

10

and electronic devices.--Mechanical, electrical or electronic

11

devices may not be used to time the rate of speed of vehicles

12

within [500 feet] one-half mile after [a speed limit] an

13

official sign indicating a decrease of speed. This limitation on

14

the use of speed timing devices shall not apply to speed limit

15

signs indicating school zones, bridge and elevated structure

16

speed limits, hazardous grade speed limits and work zone speed

17

limits.

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
