AN ACT

Amending Titles 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) and 75

2

(Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, further

3

providing for Commonwealth portion of fines, etc., and for

4

allocation of proceeds.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

6

hereby enacts as follows:

7

Section 1.  Section 3571(b)(2) of Title 42 of the

8

Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:

9

§ 3571.  Commonwealth portion of fines, etc.

(b)  Vehicle offenses.--

(2)  Except as provided in paragraph (4), when

14

prosecution under any other provision of Title 75 (relating

15

to vehicles) is the result of State Police action, all fines,

16

forfeited recognizances and other forfeitures imposed, lost

17

or forfeited shall be payable to the Commonwealth, for credit

18

to the Motor License Fund. [One-half of the revenue shall be

paid to municipalities in the same ratio provided in section

2

4 of the act of June 1, 1956 (P.L.1944, No.655), relating to

3

partial allocation of liquid fuels and fuel use tax

4

proceeds.]

Section 2.  Section 9511 of Title 75 is amended by adding a

7

subsection to read:

§ 9511.  Allocation of proceeds.

9

(i)  Allocation to Pennsylvania State Police for cadet

11

training.--Annually, all funds collected under 42 Pa.C.S. §

12

3571(b)(2) and (3) (relating to Commonwealth portion of fines,

13

etc.) which are credited to the Motor License Fund, up to a

14

maximum of $20,000,000, shall be appropriated from the Motor

15

License Fund to the Pennsylvania State Police for use of cadet

16

training.

Section 3.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
