AN ACT

  

1

Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania

2

Consolidated Statutes, further providing for false evidence

3

of identity.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

5

hereby enacts as follows:

6

Section 1.  Section 6116 of Title 18 of the Pennsylvania

7

Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:

8

§ 6116.  False evidence of identity.

9

In addition to any other penalty provided in this chapter,

10

the furnishing of false information or offering false evidence

11

of identity [is a violation of section 4904 (relating to unsworn

12

falsification to authorities).] shall be punishable by any of

13

the following:

14

(1)  Inability to receive a license to carry a firearm

15

for up to ten years.

16

(2)  A fine of not more than $5,000.

17

(3)  Incarceration of up to two years.

18

Section 2.  The amendment of 18 Pa.C.S. § 6116 shall apply to

the furnishing of false information or offering false evidence

2

of identity occurring on or after the effective date of this

3

section.

4

Section 3.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
