AN ACT

Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the

Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, further providing for

3

exemptions from jury duty.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

5

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  Section 4503(a) of Title 42 of the Pennsylvania

7

Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a paragraph to read:

8

§ 4503.  Exemptions from jury duty.

9

(a)  General rule.--No person shall be exempt or excused from

10

jury duty except the following:

11

(5)  Persons who have previously served for a full term

13

on a Statewide investigating grand jury, including any

14

extensions thereof, who opt not to serve.

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
