| AN ACT |
| |
1 | Amending Title 65 (Public Officers) of the Pennsylvania |
2 | Consolidated Statutes, requiring public officials and public |
3 | employees who use government vehicles to provide proof of |
4 | holding a valid driver's license. |
5 | The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania |
6 | hereby enacts as follows: |
7 | Section 1. Title 65 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated |
8 | Statutes is amended by adding a part to read: |

1 | § 2101. Short title of chapter. |
2 | This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the Public |
3 | Official and Employee Driver Licensing Act. |
4 | § 2102. Definitions. |
5 | The following words and phrases when used in this chapter |
6 | shall have the meanings given to them in this section unless the |
7 | context clearly indicates otherwise: |
8 | "Political subdivision." A county, city, borough, |
9 | incorporated town, township, school district, vocational school, |
10 | county institution district, and an authority, entity or body |
11 | organized by any of them. |
12 | "Public employee." An individual employed by the |
13 | Commonwealth or a political subdivision. |
14 | "Public official." A person elected by the public or elected |
15 | or appointed by a governmental body or an appointed official in |
16 | the executive, legislative or judicial branch of this |
17 | Commonwealth or a political subdivision thereof. |
18 | § 2103. Proof of valid driver's license. |
19 | A public official or public employee who operates a |
20 | government vehicle shall annually provide proof to the |
21 | respective governmental body or employer responsible for the |
22 | vehicle that the public official or public employee holds a |
23 | valid driver's license pursuant to the provisions of 75 Pa.C.S. |
24 | Ch. 15 (relating to licensing of drivers). |
25 | Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days. |
