AN ACT

Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An

2

act relating to the public school system, including certain

3

provisions applicable as well to private and parochial

4

schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the

5

laws relating thereto," further providing for tax levy and

6

limitations.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

8

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  Section 672 of the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30,

10

No.14), known as the Public School Code of 1949, is amended by

11

adding a subsection to read:

Section 672.  Tax Levy; Limitations.--* * *

13

(f)  Notwithstanding any other provision of this section or

14

other law, a person who has owned and paid property taxes on the

15

person's homestead or farmstead for fifty (50) or more years

16

shall, after the effective date of this subsection, be exempt

17

from paying school property taxes.

18

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
