AN ACT

Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the

2

Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, providing for venue in

3

personal injury actions.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

5

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  Title 42 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated

7

Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:

8

§ 5101.2.  Venue in personal injury actions.

9

Notwithstanding any other provision to the contrary, a tort

10

action for damages which alleges a personal injury may be filed

11

only in the county in which the cause of action arose and

12

judgment upon that action may be entered only within the same

13

county.

14

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
