AN ACT

  

1

Amending the act of July 19, 1957 (P.L.1017, No.451), entitled

2

"An act prohibiting advisors, consultants, officers and

3

employes of the Commonwealth, the Pennsylvania Turnpike

4

Commission and State authorities, from having adverse

5

interests in certain contracts; prohibiting employes thereof

6

from representing other persons in certain circumstances; and

7

prescribing penalties," further providing for the definition

8

of "have an adverse interest"; and providing for a definition

9

of "immediate family."

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

11

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  The definition of "have an adverse interest" in

13

section 2 of the act of July 19, 1957 (P.L.1017, No.451), known

14

as the State Adverse Interest Act, amended December 9, 1982

15

(P.L.1044, No.245), is amended and the section is amended by

16

adding a definition to read:

Section 2.  The following terms shall have the following

18

meanings, when used in this act:

(4)  "Have an Adverse Interest."  Be the party or an

21

immediate family member be the party to a contract, as herein

defined, other than the Commonwealth or a State agency or be a

2

stockholder, partner, member, agent, representative or employe

3

of such party.

(4.1)  "Immediate Family."  A spouse or child.

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
