| AN ACT |
| |
1 | Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated |
2 | Statutes, in safety and anti-pollution equipment, further |
3 | providing for windshield obstructions and wipers. |
4 | The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania |
5 | hereby enacts as follows: |
6 | Section 1. Section 4524 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania |
7 | Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read: |
8 | § 4524. Windshield obstructions and wipers. |

10 | (e.1) Vehicle safety inspection.-- |
11 | (1) A motor vehicle which is equipped with tinted |
12 | windows shall be tested as part of the motor vehicle safety |
13 | inspection and shall fail inspection if it violates |
14 | subsection (e). |
15 | (2) Failing to inform a purchaser of window tinting |
16 | services for a motor vehicle that an alteration or |
17 | modification will cause the motor vehicle to violate |
18 | subsection (e) shall constitute unfair methods of competition |

1 | and unfair or deceptive acts or practices within the meaning |
2 | of section 2(4) of the act of December 17, 1968 (P.L.1224, |
3 | No.387), known as the Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer |
4 | Protection Law, and shall be subject to the enforcement |
5 | provisions, civil penalties and private rights of action |
6 | contained in that act. |

8 | Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days. |
