AN ACT

Amending Title 71 (State Government) of the Pennsylvania

Consolidated Statutes, in executive officers, providing for

nominations.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

5

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  Title 71 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated

7

Statutes is amended by adding a part to read:

§ 1301.  Definitions.

The following words and phrases when used in this chapter

shall have the meanings given to them in this section unless the

2

context clearly indicates otherwise:

3

"Contract."  A contract as defined under 65 Pa.C.S. § 1102 

4

(relating to definitions).

5

"Prohibited person."  A person who meets any of the

6

following:

7

(1)  Is a member of a different board or commission.

8

(2)  Has a pecuniary interest in a contract granted or

9

approved by a board or commission.

10

§ 1302.  Prohibition.

11

Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Governor may

12

not nominate a prohibited person to a board or commission.

13

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
