A RESOLUTION
Designating the week of February 8 through 14, 2010, as
"National Salute to Hospitalized Veterans Week" in
Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, The purpose of the National Salute to Hospitalized
Veterans Program is to pay tribute and express appreciation to
hospitalized veterans, increase community awareness of the role
of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) medical
center and to encourage citizens to visit hospitalized veterans
and to become involved as volunteers; and
WHEREAS, Each year, the week in February which includes the
14th is our opportunity to say thank you to a special group of
more than 160,000 outpatient and 28,800 inpatient men and women
veterans of the United States Armed Forces who are cared for
every day in the VA medical centers, outpatient clinics,
domiciliaries and nursing homes; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate designate the week of February 8
through 14, 2010, as "National Salute to Hospitalized Veterans
Week" in Pennsylvania.
