A house RESOLUTION

 

TO CELEBRATE THE GRAY COLLEGIATE ACADEMY CHEER SQUAD, COACHES, AND ADMINISTRATION FOR AN EXCELLENT SEASON AND TO CONGRATULATE THEM FOR WINNING THEIR SECOND CONSECUTIVE SOUTH CAROLINA CLASS 2A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.

 

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is delighted to learn that the members of the Gray Collegiate cheer squad landed their second consecutive victory at the state finals on November 18, 2023; and

 

Whereas, to the excitement of their dedicated fans, the Gray Lady War Eagles defeated all comers to secure the victory. Gray Collegiate prevailed over Chesnee and Mid-Carolina to achieve first place with 291 points; and

 

Whereas, since her arrival at Gray Collegiate, Head Coach Griffin Woods has masterfully guided the Lady War Eagles with great success. Using her strategies, the squad was able earn the Class 2A State Championship title and display a high level of athleticism; and

 

Whereas, in a sport that requires agility, endurance, and strength, Coach Woods and her skilled coaching staff utilized their athletic prowess to create a team of champions and teach these athletes life principles that will endure beyond the mats; and

 

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives values the dedication and determination that the Gray Collegiate cheerleaders have put forth to place their team on top, and the members look forward to following their continued achievements in the days ahead. Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

 

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, celebrate the Gray Collegiate Academy cheer squad, coaches, and administration for an excellent season and congratulate them for winning their second consecutive South Carolina Class 2A State Championship title.

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Principal Brian Newsome and Head Coach Griffin Woods of Gray Collegiate Academy.
