A senate RESOLUTION

TO CELEBRATE THE CAMBRIDGE ACADEMY GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM ON CAPTURING THE 2023 SOUTH CAROLINA INDEPENDENT SCHOOL ASSOCIATION CLASS 1A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.

Whereas, as coaches Amanda Deason and Robert Rooney looked on with pride, the Cambridge Academy girls basketball team surged to a 41-34 victory over Laurens Academy on February 25, 2023, to nail the 2023 SCISA 1A State Championship title. Wrapping up the season at 15-8, the Lady Cougars carried off their first state title in forty-seven years, the school's third state crown overall; and

Whereas, the Senate takes great pleasure in saluting the Cambridge Academy girls basketball team and confidently predicts a future filled with further achievements by these talented athletes. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, celebrate the Cambridge Academy girls basketball team on capturing the 2023 South Carolina Independent School Association Class 1A State Championship title.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Head of School Lori Anne Hagood and Head Coach Amanda Deason.
