A bill
TO AMEND THE SOUTH CAROLINA CODE OF LAWS BY ADDING SECTION 56-3-705 SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR THE LICENSING AND REGISTRATION OF UNTITLED UTILITY TRAILERS BY THE DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Article 5, Chapter 3, Title 56 of the S.C. Code is amended by adding:
Section 56-3-705. A utility trailer must be licensed and registered without a title upon presentation with the registration application to the department a bill of sale and an affidavit of ownership. Licensing and registration of an untitled utility trailer is evidence of ownership of the trailer only for the purpose of licensing and registering the trailer.
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
