No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Family Code to limit custody of a child at sanction level six to the Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD) and allow TJJD to reduce length of stay. The bill would also allow TJJD to share certain records with an individual or entity assisting with transition planning and reentry services.

According to the Office of Court Administration and TJJD, any costs associated with the provisions of the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.
