relating to immunity from certain disciplinary proceedings for a | ||
teacher's justified use of physical force. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 22.0512(b), Education Code, is amended | ||
to read as follows: | ||
(b) In this section, "disciplinary proceeding" means: | ||
(1) an action brought by the school district employing | ||
a professional employee of a school district to discharge or | ||
suspend the employee or terminate or not renew the employee's term | ||
contract; or | ||
(2) an action brought by the State Board for Educator | ||
Certification [ |

SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
