relating to the effect on a credit report of certain transactions by | ||
a person's spouse pending a divorce decree. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 20.05, Business & Commerce Code, is | ||
amended by adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: | ||
(d) Except as otherwise provided by federal law, a consumer | ||
reporting agency may not include in a consumer report information | ||
about a transaction of a consumer's spouse described by Section | ||
6.707(a), Family Code, if the consumer provides a copy of the court | ||
order making a finding that the transaction was in violation of that | ||
section. | ||
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies to the | ||
submission of a court order to a consumer reporting agency for the | ||
correction of a consumer report on or after the effective date of | ||
this Act, regardless of whether the disputed transaction occurred | ||
or the court order was rendered before, on, or after the effective | ||
date of this Act. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
