A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the compensatory education allotment for homeless
students.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 48.104, Education Code, is amended by
adding Subsection (a-1) to read as follows:
(a-1) For each student who is a homeless child or youth, as
defined by 42 U.S.C. Section 11434a, a district is entitled to the
annual allotment equal to the basic allotment multiplied by the
highest weight established under Subsection (c).
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
