relating to the eligibility of a person to serve on the board of | ||
directors of an appraisal district. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 6.035, Tax Code, is amended by adding | ||
Subsection (a-2) to read as follows: | ||
(a-2) An individual is ineligible to serve on an appraisal | ||
district board of directors if the individual is or has ever been | ||
employed by the appraisal district governed by the board. | ||
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act does not | ||
affect the eligibility of a person serving as an appointed member of | ||
the board of directors of an appraisal district immediately before | ||
the effective date of this Act to continue to serve on the board for | ||
the remainder of the term to which the member was appointed. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
