| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 92, Property Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Section 92.0092 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 92.0092. CONVEYANCE OF REAL PROPERTY SUBJECT TO | ||
| UNEXPIRED RESIDENTIAL LEASE. Except as otherwise provided by | ||
| federal law, if real property subject to an unexpired residential | ||
| lease is conveyed, the person to whom the property is conveyed | ||
| assumes the lease for the remainder of the lease term. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. | ||
